How do you spend a really hot summer day on very little cash... or perhaps even free?! Well, we could have swam in our RAD Olympic size pool on our back patio, turned the sprinklers on and let the kids run through them in the yard... OR... we could drive about 20 minutes to the town just north of here and enjoy the splash park. Not only did it provide a way for the kids to cool off, but then they could run over and play on the huge equipment area. Then when they got hot they would run back over to the splash park. I wish I would have taken pictures of the whole area to show you how fun it is. It definitely was a cure for the mid-summer "I don't want to swim in the pool! I don't want to run through the sprinklers!" boredom.

You know they say that if your tush is cool, it will cool off the rest of your body... : )

Bradley getting the bucket of water overhead dumped on him. I was so proud of my camera phone for taking this great shot. Seeing as how I forgot my camera, I was totally dependent on the phone.
The night after this a good breeze picked up so we were able to fly the kite that I bought Bradley while I was at the Oregon Coast. I don't have any pics yet, because he wouldn't let me leave him to go get the camera. I will not forget it next time. It's a really cute tie-dyed octopus named Opie.
